THE
RIDGE’S SUBOXONE TREATMENT PROGRAM
The Ridge Suboxone
Treatment Program (STP) is designed to help adults, age 21 or older,
discontinue their use of Opiates, acquire stabilization, and
maintain long-term recovery from mood-altering substances.
What is Suboxone?
Suboxone is a
long-acting partial agonist that acts on the same receptors as
Opiates, relieving drug cravings and withdrawal without producing
the same intense high or dangerous side effects. Suboxone is a
prescription medicine that contains two medicines, Buprenorphine and
Naloxone, and can be prescribed by a credentialed physician in an
Outpatient Department. Through consistent participation in individual
counseling while under a physician’s care, patients are able to
acquire necessary coping skills, make significant life changes, and
establish a desired quality of life for themselves and their
families.
The Ridge’s Suboxone Treatment Program?
Patients may
contact The Ridge to complete a screening over the phone or
simply walk-in. The initial screening will determine the
appropriateness of a face-to-face assessment for the Suboxone
Treatment Program. If appropriate, an assessment will be scheduled
at our Outpatient Department with a qualified clinician. Patients
should be prepared to give a urine sample at the time of the
assessment to verify the presence of opiates. After the assessment,
the patient’s case is staffed with the Medical Director and a
determination is made to schedule the patient’s Induction Visit. The
Induction Visit may last from 1-3 hours and is completed by our
Medical Director and Nurse. Upon completion of the Induction Visit,
the patient will receive an appointment for the following week for
their first Counseling Session and Maintenance Visit with the
Medical Director. The Counseling Sessions and Maintenance Visits
will move from weekly to bi-weekly, and eventually monthly until the
patient completes their treatment.
The Ridge Suboxone Treatment Program is an integrated
treatment continuum which provides Initial Assessments, Inductions,
Physician Visits, and Counseling Sessions.
