Laurie Humphries, M.D.
Service Director, Child and Adolescent
Unit
Dr. Laurie Humphries graduated from Emory University in Atlanta,
Georgia where she also completed her residency in general psychiatry
and her fellowship in child psychiatry. Dr. Humphries is Board
Certified as a Child Psychiatrist and is a member of the American
Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She is a full-time
professor at the University of Kentucky’s Department of Psychiatry
and Service Director for the Child and Adolescent Unit at The Ridge
BHS.
Dr. Humphries has completed extensive research in the areas of child
and adolescent psychiatry and eating disorders for over 20 years.
She has also appeared on “Dr. Phil” to discuss eating disorders.
Rebecca Wright, CSW, AND
Lead Therapist, Eating Disorders
Program
Rebecca Wright graduated from the University of Kentucky with a
Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science as well as a Master’s Degree
in Social Work. Prior to attending UK as an undergraduate, Rebecca
received an Associate Nursing Degree at Lexington Community College.
Rebecca is employed by The Ridge as a full-time Lead Therapist for
our Eating Disorder Program. She has a great deal of experience in
the areas of individual, group, and family counseling as well as
treatment planning. In addition to her work in the inpatient
psychiatric setting she has also worked in our community as a case
manager and hospice social worker. We are pleased to have Rebecca
share her knowledge of Eating Disorders with our patients.
