Adolescent Recovery Center
The Adolescent
Recovery Center (ARC) at The Ridge is designed to serve adolescents, ages 12 to 17
(or 18 if still in high school), suffering from substance abuse and
co-occurring
disorders. The ARC specializes in the treatment of adolescents whose
substance abuse problems are manifested primarily through legal
problems, school difficulties, relationship problems, and an
inability to maintain sobriety.
The ARC offers semi-private rooms located on a self-contained unit. The
treatment team is made up of qualified professionals including a
manager, medical director, registered nurses and certified alcohol
and drug counselors.
All ARC services
are reimbursable by Medicaid and most commercial insurance, once
approved. The expected length of stay is 28 to 55 days, but lengths
of stay are modified to best serve each participant’s situation and
needs.
The Treatment Program at the Adolescent Recovery Center
The
ARC program model utilizes The Seven Challenges, an evidence-based
treatment model for adolescents presenting with substance abuse and
co-occurring disorders. The Seven Challenges helps young people look
at themselves, understand what it takes to give up a drug abusing
lifestyle-and prepare for and attain success when they commit to
making changes.
Because chemical dependency is a
family illness-affecting all members, family/guardian involvement in
the treatment process is essential to the success of the
participant. Individual family therapy and multifamily education
groups are offered for all participants.
In addition,
participants will attend school at The Ridge during the academic
year with certified teachers of the
Fayette County School System.
